For those who have tried and failed…

Failure is not the end. In fact, some of the most worthwhile lessons are gleaned from failure and certainly, some of the greatest stories wouldn’t be interesting if it wasn’t for the contrast of failure.

Can you imagine it? Snow White never eats the poisoned apple and lives happily ever after with 7 blokes in a house in the woods, rather than being awoken by a Prince.

Likewise, some things will have happened in your life, it is only when you look back, that you suddenly realise how much that helped you. While at the time, it may feel like it would just stop you in your track.

I know I have, several times and not just in my fitness and health.

Yet having the resolve to persevere through these times, treating each failure as a learning opportunity, one more way that doesn’t work. Means that you are one step closer to finding the thing that will work.

While I could complain that I spent over 5 years trying to lose weight after realising how it was affecting me. However, those 5 years prepared me with so much knowledge about what didn’t work, that when I started to learn what does work for my weight loss and physique improvements, it was easy to recognise.

The thing is all this information was readily available and even better I didn’t have to do it all by myself.

After all the reason information, books and coaches exist because other people have been through similar things.
So why spend as much time and effort to make the least amount of progress, when you could spend the least amount of time and effort to make the most amount of progress by learning how to from someone else.

After all “It’s said that a wise person learns from his mistakes. A wiser one learns from others’ mistakes. But the wisest person of all learns from others’ successes.” – John C Maxwell
